Uber is expanding its UberX service, allowing people to hail cars in the United States and the United Kingdom.
The company is now offering a taxi service in Washington, DC and New York City, as well as in London, Paris, Barcelona and Madrid.
UberX will begin offering rides in London on Sunday, and in the U.K. on April 30, the company said in a blog post.
Uber’s service will only be available in the two cities it’s expanding to, the Uber spokesperson said.
The company said it plans to open more UberX locations in the coming months.
For now, you can hail cars for free in the US and the UK, and use UberX to hail UberX cars in your own city.
A number of the same services already exist in the UberX app, but this is the first time a new taxi service is offered in the cities Uber is launching.
I am glad to announce the opening of UberX in London and the U of T. Today, UberX users in London can now hail taxis in their own city for free.
The first UberX driver in London will be an experienced UberX rider who has been riding for more than a decade.
You will also be able to use Uber’s app in London to hail taxis from any of the other UberX cities that have launched.
London is the second city in the world to offer UberX.
The city has been rolling out the app in the past two years, adding hundreds of new UberX drivers.
In June, Uber announced that it was expanding its service in Austin, Texas, with a focus on reducing congestion.
Uber plans to expand to other U.S. cities over the coming years, the Austin Business Journal reported.
We have a ton of new drivers, new services in the works, and our goal is to provide as many people with the best experiences as possible, Uber Vice President of Transportation and Public Safety David Hahn said in the announcement.
Hahn said Uber will work with regulators to provide the best possible service in these cities.
While UberX and other Uber services have faced criticism from regulators in the wake of driver suicides, Uber has not had a single driver commit suicide in its history.
There have been some major UberX accidents, including one in New York in which a driver died after his car hit another vehicle, injuring five people.
Last week, Uber launched a new app, called UberX2, to allow users to hail a car in their cities without a driver.
Uber is also rolling out a fleet of self-driving cars in Austin.
